Adelyn Tan is a licensed and registered counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC). She is the founder of HiDolphin Counselling for Children, Youth, and Parents, a centre dedicated to supporting families through neuroscience-based approaches, play therapy, and live biofeedback assessments.

Clinical Experience
Adelyn is trained in various play therapy modalities, including Narrative Sand, Art, and Music Therapy. She connects with children and youth in creative, fun, and developmentally sensitive ways. Her work helps release bodily discomfort, especially by attuning to children’s and youths’ body sensations. She creates a safe space for them to release anger, worry, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and behavioural challenges. Her approach supports children in exploring their inner world, expressing themselves more freely, and reconnecting with parental love.

She is a Certified Multichannel Eye Movement Integration Practitioner (CMEMIP) for trauma resolution and a Certified Brain-Switch 2.0® Practitioner, helping children and youth process trauma or unpleasant events that affect daily functioning at school or home. These tools serve as a “first-aid kit” for children, youth, and parents. She also uses HRV Biofeedback to monitor stress levels during the treatment.

Adelyn is a Certified Transactional Analysis Practitioner (TAP) for childhood issues, enabling her to offer specialised interventions tailored to individual needs. She is well-versed in Advanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Choice Theory Reality Therapy (CTRT), providing evidence-based approaches to help clients reframe their challenges and reshape their “quality world.” She is also trained in the Satir Model to strengthen family relationships and promotes mindfulness practices for holistic well-being.

With her comprehensive training and compassionate approach, Adelyn is dedicated to supporting children and families on their journey toward healing, growth, and transformation.

Adelyn supports children and youth with neurodivergent profiles, including ADHD, ASD, and dyslexia. She helps them navigate daily challenges at school and home, such as inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), emotional regulation difficulties, academic motivation, communication issues, social skill deficits, sensory processing challenges, executive functioning difficulties, and learning differences. She works closely with parents and schools as a team to support the child’s development.

Adelyn works with children, youth, and families to address gaming addiction and compulsive screen use. She focuses on the underlying emotional needs such as escapism, avoidance, or the desire to feel competent and in control that drive excessive screen time. She helps parents understand what their child is experiencing and apply effective communication and techniques to reduce screen cravings. She conducts assessments to determine whether a child’s screen use is excessive, addictive, or indicative of a gaming disorder. Together with parents, she develops a step-by-step screen health plan to support the child’s transition toward healthier habits.

Adelyn recognises that children and youth may not always identify their experiences as trauma, PTSD, or adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). She conducts assessments to identify trauma-related symptoms and helps parents understand the root causes behind school refusal, learning loss, tantrums, aggression, or sudden emotional outbursts.

Adelyn has experience supporting children with OCD symptoms such as excessive handwashing, prolonged showers, checking, counting, and harm-related fears. She understands the OCD cycle of intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and anxiety-driven behaviours (compulsions). She conducts assessments to identify root causes and recognises that OCD can be triggered or worsened by life transitions and stress. She works closely with parents and schools to support children through these transitions.

Adelyn has helped children overcome motor and verbal tics by identifying root causes and working through them step by step. She supports children with selective mutism or anxiety-related speech challenges to communicate confidently in class, group settings, and oral exams. She has experience addressing a wide range of anxiety presentations, including generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, exam anxiety, and social anxiety. She equips children with “first-aid” tools to manage anxiety in the moment.

Adelyn supports families navigating divorce by helping parents understand its impact on children and youth. She conducts co-parenting sessions to foster teamwork and emotional safety. She helps children and parents adjust to new environments, process separation anxiety and grief, and strengthen family dynamics.

Adelyn collaborates closely with schools to address complex issues affecting children and youth. She participates in case conferences with various agencies to ensure comprehensive support. She also provides counselling for children and youth undergoing psychiatric treatment. She also offers online counselling for those studying overseas due to family relocation.

Adelyn has facilitated mental health, behavioural, mindfulness, and emotional regulation programmes in primary and secondary schools, as well as in community settings. She has conducted caregiver mindfulness workshops for parents of children with autism and delivered talks on mindfulness and mental health to students and educators at international schools.

Creator of the “HiDolphin Brain Power®” Programme
Adelyn designed the HiDolphin Brain Power® Programme for group settings an immersive experience integrating Biofeedback assessment, Brain-Based approaches, Mindfulness, Play therapy, and a health plan.

Children learn self-help techniques rooted in clinical practice, delivered through playful, engaging activities that help them stay calm. The goal is to support them in managing distressing emotions, intrusive thoughts, and overwhelming body sensations not by memorising rules, but through meaningful transformation and expressive freedom.

These activities activate the prefrontal cortex, enhancing focus, emotional regulation, parental connection, sensory tolerance, and social understanding. The “First Aid Kit” to weather emotional storms, build resilience, boost academic motivation, and foster self-empowerment.

Certified Brain Switch 2.0 Practitioner
Certified ReAttach Protocol Practitioner
Transactional Analysis (TA) Practitioner
Trained in Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual (CCTSI)
Certified Trainer (WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning & Performance – ACLP)

I grew up in Singapore and spent many years in Seattle before returning home with renewed hopes and dreams to serve my community. Along the way, I have worked in NGOs, the private sector, and the public sector. These experiences have shown me that people from all walks of life carry both struggles and strengths.

I care deeply about supporting children, adolescents, and their parents or caregivers as they move through seasons of stress, anxiety, and trauma. My role is to provide trauma informed care in a space that feels safe, calm, and nonjudgmental. I want clients to feel heard, supported, and empowered as they take steps toward growth. I am also a certified trainer and enjoy equipping caregivers and communities with practical tools that make mental health support more accessible.

Approach
I gravitate towards a brain based and trauma informed approach to therapy, while keeping sessions client centred and practical at a pace that feels right for each individual. I draw on methods such as Multichannel Eye Movement Integration (MEMI), Brain Switch 2.0, the ReAttach Protocol, Choice Theory/Reality Therapy (CTRT), and Expressive Arts Therapy. These approaches help clients process difficult experiences safely, manage anxiety and stress more effectively, and recognise the choices available to them in creating meaningful change.

Eve Zhang

Grief and Emotional Resilience Coach

Certified Multi-Channel Eye Movement Integration Therapy Practitioner
ICF Associate Certified Coach
Suicide Intervention Counsellor
Grief & Trauma Informed Professional
Graduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy

Grief is a natural and deeply human emotional response to loss. It can arise after the death of a loved one, the end of a significant relationship, or during major life transitions such as moving, career changes, or personal setbacks. Grief often brings a complex mix of emotions—sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, and even moments of relief or numbness. These feelings are an essential part of processing loss, signalling the depth of our attachment and the significance of what has changed in our lives. If we know how to process these feelings in a healthy way, we will be able to draw strength from these difficult emotions.

As a certified practitioner in Multi-Channel Eye Movement Integration (MEMI) Therapy, Eve combines neuroscience-backed techniques with grief support principles to empower her clients to process grief with resilience and to find strength and hope as they heal. Eve helps individuals navigate the unique and often overwhelming journey of grief using The Lumic Path Framework by providing compassionate guidance to:

Understand the types and stages of grief and how they manifest uniquely in each person
Acknowledge and process emotions without judgment, gaining clarity amidst uncertainty
Build resilience and effective coping strategies, cultivating strength with compassion
Discover meaning, hope, and personal growth, supporting sustainable transformation

This framework includes 6 therapeutic processes to help clients transform grief into growth and find strength in loss.

1) Right View – Seeing Reality as It Is
Helps clients acknowledge life as it unfolds, without judgment or avoidance.

2) Mindful Presence – Living Fully in the Now
Cultivating awareness and presence for moments of sorrow, beauty, and connection to be fully experienced.

3) Compassionate Self-Companionship
Allowing clients to see themselves not as their pain, but as compassionate companions walking alongside their own experiences.

4) Wise Action – Aligning Choices with Inner Values
Empowering clients to take steps that align with what truly matters to them, even in the face of loss.

5) The Middle Way – Balanced Living in Transition
Encourages flexibility and balance to help individuals navigate change without clinging or avoidance.

6) Legacy of Light – Turning Loss into Meaning
Transforming pain into a source of meaning, contribution, and renewal for self and others.

Eve’s approach is deeply compassionate. She sees herself as an equal counterpart to her clients, fully present without trying to fix or direct their pain. Each session is tailored to the client’s story and pace, empowering clients to reflect, heal, and reclaim their inner light. She walks alongside clients, helping them embrace difficult emotions and transform their pain into opportunities for growth and healing.
